Italian Cheese Toast Recipe
1-1 / 4 cups half and half
1 tbsp. olive oil or salad
1 tsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. paprika
1 tbsp. capers
1 12 “bread Italy
1 8 oz. Mozzarella cheese package
1 tbsp. chopped parsley
In the 2-qt. saucepan, combine first 4 ingredients. Cook over medium heat heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute. lower heat, stir in the capers, cover, keep warm.
Preheat broiler. Of Italian bread, cut 8 one-inch diagonal thick slices (save the rest of the bread).
Bread toast in the broiler on each side. Put slices of cheese on each slice and bake until melted.
Spoon over cream cheese mixture. Garnish with parsley. serve immediately.
